Study of the work
Bras de Seine près de Giverny
by Claude Monet (1840-1926)

  • Phase 1.

Here is the first session on this study of Claude Monet’s painting “La Seine près La Giverny". Observing light, shadows, and color transitions, working with thin layers, focusing on his impressionistic touches, I tried loose, deliberate brushstrokes to capture the movement and vibrancy. This study aims to engage and trying to understand this painting by Monet which he painted on a canvas size 92 × 89 cm in 1897.

  • Phase 2.

    In progress….

  • Phase 3.

.. and a few layers more

  • Phase 4.

    Some more dynamism

  • Phase 5.

The energy is there but now it needs further intensification of colour and depth

  • Phase 6.

    This is the end result.
